An assay can be conducted on your scrap catalytic converter lot once the material has been processed to a suitable form for sampling. A sample is taken and further broken down into smaller samples in the laboratory. Based on the composition of the sample, the laboratory chooses the appropriate subsequent steps in order to conduct the assay. Once the assay is complete, a document is generated using this data. The data within the document lists parts per million, or PPM’s, for Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium which represent the quality of the load. Other data is also available on this document which includes the troy ounces of the precious metals.
